The Blue Gold Baseball Academy Instructional Fall Leagues

Blue Gold Baseball Fall Instructional League | Ages 6-12
August 21st, 24th, 28th, 31st, September 7th, 11th, 14th
Divisions: 6-7 Year Olds, 8-10 Year Olds, 11-12 Year Olds

The Blue Gold Baseball Academy Instructional Fall League is an evening baseball program for 6-12 year olds to be held at Patriot Park and put on by the University of Nebraska-Kearney Baseball Program. The Instructional League sessions will be made up of 30 minutes of drill and skill instruction and two 45 minute controlled scrimmages. Teams will be divided into three divisions based on age as well as ability. This Fall League is designed for the player who wants to play more baseball in an instructional setting. All league participants will be assigned to a team with a Coach that is a current member of the UNK Baseball Program. There will be pitching at all levels as well as machine, and coach pitch. This will keep the games fun and fast pace with a tremendous opportunity for instruction and repetition.

Mission:
To foster an environment where learning trumps competition, pressure, or expectations to perform at a dictated level. We strive to teach the game from the ground up focusing on every day fundamentals necessary at all levels of the game.
Focus:
• Our focus during our instructional period of practice will be done in group order where there will be opportunities to work on infield mechanics, outfield mechanics, hitting principles, as well as basic pitching necessities.
• During the game portion of our practice it will be a controlled scrimmage with no players pitching. All scrimmages will be coach pitch, or machine based. We will focus solely on teaching how to play the game in each situation, and encouraging players to try new positions with no fear of struggling, or not being “good enough.”
• This program will be greatly beneficial for players of all skill levels to participate in because of the repetition-based program we will be using. We feel like the practice portion of baseball is becoming greatly overlooked in today’s win now atmosphere of competitive club baseball.
Practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with scrimmages taking place on specifically scheduled Sundays. To save young arms, some Sunday scrimmages will be pitching machine or simulated game settings. ... See MoreSee Less
