HASTINGS — Ryker Tomlinson delivered a two-run triple and Drew Townsend collected three hits as Lincoln Southwest Cornhusker Heating & Air Post 500 defeated Omaha Creighton Prep Bones Post 1, 14-6, in six innings Monday night in Game 11 of the Nebraska American Legion Class A Juniors State Tournament at Duncan Field.

Lincoln Southwest scored once in each of the first two innings. Townsend came home on a passed ball in the first, and Bryson Crump’s sacrifice fly scored Cole Sebek in the second.

Omaha tied the game in the third on Owen Fogarty’s RBI single and a wild pitch that brought home Ben Piernicky. The Bones moved ahead 3-2 in the fourth when Graham Wilwerding scored on an error.

Lincoln Southwest answered by sending 11 batters to the plate and scoring seven runs in the bottom of the fourth. Townsend tied the game with an RBI single before Maddox Meyer and Nash Noerrlinger scored on wild pitches. Carson Lewis and Hudson Kelley added RBI singles, and Tomlinson capped the inning with a two-run triple for a 9-3 advantage.

Omaha pulled within 9-6 in the fifth when Piernicky hit a two-run triple and George Bartholomew followed with an RBI single. Lincoln Southwest responded with four runs in the bottom half behind Townsend’s RBI single, Kelley’s bases-loaded walk and Sebek’s two-run single. Crump scored the final run in the sixth.

Thomas Rathe earned the victory after working four innings, allowing four hits and six runs while walking six and striking out nine. Noah Garden took the loss for Omaha.

Townsend finished 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs. Sebek went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Tomlinson drove in two with Lincoln Southwest’s only extra-base hit. Piernicky led Omaha by going 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs. Finn Nauenburg reached three times and scored twice.

Lincoln Southwest finished with 14 runs, nine hits and one error. Omaha recorded six runs, five hits and one error.
